driving to work this morning and crash bang wallop feathers everywhere and i'd hit a bloody hoofing pigeon.... didn't wanna look till i got to work purely didn't wanna see a half squished bird on gavin.....
luckily no birdy
unfortunately my headlight is completely hanging out of the wing and glass shattered everywhere so looks like thats another thing to the growing list of bits i need
if anyone has a spare headlight unit, for 74 bug can you gimme a shout, would be very greatful,

was a damp start to the weekend but cleared up sunday quite a few traders and autojumblers only things that spoiled it was some **c*tard keying the show and shine winning beetle and a portaloo being pushed over and denting one of the south east cornwall dubs and customs daughters polo

Due to circumstances ive got to let my Mk1 Golf 1.8 Clipper Cab go to a new home!
where do i start,well its never been welded! its lowered springs & shocks new not so long ago,alloys,new battery,new fuel pump,new ignition coil,tidy interior,some bubbles in outside paint but nowt to bad!5 gear Manual of corse alarm & immobiliser!
when i purchased the cab the roof was shot so ive had a new one fitted & yes its electric,handles work & aint snapped!
back window frame was a nos item like rocking horse crap! but managed to get one,but will say that the back window rubber seal does leak into the boot in heavy rain,but ive lived with it!

Also in my new job as Parts manger for MAN and VW commercials I now have access to the electronic parts catalogue for all the Type 2's so I can probably print off pages from the parts list and can get whatever parts are still available from VW. I also have access to the VW dealer search so can track down stock at any dealer in the country.
Among my customers are a couple of companies that might be useful for you or others in the club:
G'day kombis - import Australian used T2 and restore them in a barn in Burcot - has a barn full of original body parts - bumpers doors etc. website www.gdaykombis.co.uk - no indication of whether they will sell parts but might be worth a look.
And
The VW Camper Co. Restored campers for sale/hire - they do their own restorations - again on imported vehicles I think - had 3 bay windows and a couple of T2/80 s outside when I was there.
