 Mk1 Golf Clipper Cabriolet T&T'd! £850ono
« Result #5 on May 4, 2009, 5:15pm »

Due to circumstances ive got to let my Mk1 Golf 1.8 Clipper Cab go to a new home!

where do i start, well its never been welded! its lowered springs & shocks new not so long ago, alloys, new battery, new fuel pump, new ignition coil, tidy interior, some bubbles in outside paint but nowt to bad!5 gear Manual of corse ;) alarm & immobiliser!

when i purchased the cab the roof was shot so ive had a new one fitted & yes its electric, handles work & aint snapped!

back window frame was a nos item like rocking horse crap! but managed to get one,but will say that the back window rubber seal does leak into the boot in heavy rain, but ive lived with it!

mot'd till June 18th 2009 taxed end of july 2009

it does what it says on the tin & is a proper clipper & is not bad nick @ all so im asking £850 ono
pics below can provide more if needed & cab in cornwall!

.............he's my brother and he sent me this:

Found this photo on the internet and thought it might amuse you.

Also in my new job as Parts manger for MAN and VW commercials I now have access to the electronic parts catalogue for all the Type 2's so I can probably print off pages from the parts list and can get whatever parts are still available from VW. I also have access to the VW dealer search so can track down stock at any dealer in the country.

Among my customers are a couple of companies that might be useful for you or others in the club:

G'day kombis - import Australian used T2 and restore them in a barn in Burcot - has a barn full of original body parts - bumpers doors etc.
website www.gdaykombis.co.uk - no indication of whether they will sell parts but might be worth a look.

And

The VW Camper Co.
Restored campers for sale/hire - they do their own restorations - again on imported vehicles I think - had 3 bay windows and a couple of T2/80 s outside when I was there.

what is wrong with the one you have ?

you can get new brushes and solenoids for them

or if you ask Speedwell he can point you in the direction of somewhere where they can rewind them
