I have that prob on adjusting my clutch, and cos its a 2100lb kennedy even if you could lever it you would be likely to lose a finger if the pry slipped. I found that a large socket, i think bout 32 mm, (don't quote me on that), fits over the wing nut and makes it a doddle to turn cos you can use a bar. Not sure if this is as easy on a stock cooled motor, shrouding may get in the way, but on my porsche fan set up with a long extension you don't even need your head in the engine bay... hope its of some help...

and thanks for the advice on clutch Ant may be able to try the socket all i need now is a 32 the other idea i had is to get someone to push the clutch down and put a little bit of wood wedging the arm on the gear box to take pressure off
(or my fingers)
