Heard a rumour last night that said the Mermaid was flooded out and would be closed for the near future. But I have just phoned them and they say whilst the damage is pretty bad, the front bar will still be open on Wednesday night.

 All of the glass at the front and the beach side of the pub was smashed by the sea, the front door is sandbagged and you have to go it the back. With the salty spray that was being blown over there tonight I wouldn't recommend anyone going there in a vehicle they like. |

Theres some pictures in this weeks Newquay Guardian of all the damage caused by the storm including some of the Mermaid  I've seen some incredible storm photo's this week and sooo supprised it's actually still standing the size of the waves in newquay!!!! mandi xxx |
