Some more pics....    Got a pissy little Solex 30 feeding a 1641 engine and there's a hossing great twin tuckaway exhaust. I think previous dude has set it to run rich at lower revs to give it better top end. Would this contribute to the popping / backfiring under engine braking? I mounted the carb securely (it only had 1 bolt holding it on   ) and resealed the exhaust gasket with some sealer paste. I'm about to go and check all ignition gap clearances, is there anything else I can do before I start adjusting the fuel mix? Idle seems to be OK (better cold than warm) and choke is working fine. |

Idle seems to be OK (better cold than warm) and choke is working fine. dude!! give up and fit twins! :eek: in the meantime, check the manifold boots dont leak by spraying WD40 on the joins (increase in idle speed will reveal a problem) but i guarantee the mainjet will be too small to run the motor at anything above a slow crawl.... body looks sweet though! |
